Welcome to our site

Welcome to the Cancer Society of America. We are a group of cancer survivors and awareness advocates who aim to create an online community for those who have been affected by cancer.

According to the National Institute of Cancer, “Approximately 38.5 percent of men and women will be diagnosed with cancer of any site at some point during their lifetime, based on 2012-2014 data.”

That means that more than one-third of U.S. citizens will suffer from some form of cancer at some point in their lifetime. In 2017 alone, there were an estimated 1,688,780 new cases of cancer, according to the Institute. Of course, these figures don’t reflect the additional lives that have been touched by cancer, even for people who didn’t receive the diagnosis themselves, such as the mothers, fathers, children, siblings, and friends who love and support someone battling this devastating disease.

If you are or if someone you know is fighting cancer, we hope you find our website to be a comforting and informative place to learn about this illness and the hope that lies beyond it.
